Backyard Remodel in Lindon

Making the most of a Lindon backyard

A lot of Lindon backyards have space most of the valley would envy, but not much to do in it. Maybe it is a big lawn, a few old fruit trees and a small patio by the back door. A remodel puts that room to work: an outdoor kitchen, a fire pit with real seating, a pergola for summer shade, planting beds and lighting that carries the yard into the evening.

On a big lot, layout matters more than on a small one. Spread things too far apart and the yard feels empty. Bunch them up and you waste the room you paid for. Getting that balance right is most of the design work. We design spaces that step out from the house, with paths and lighting tying them together, and we turn them toward Timpanogos where your lot has the view.

Lindon's ground shapes the work. Near the Marina we build on clay, so the base under patios and pool decks goes deeper. On the bench, slopes may call for walls before anything else. On old orchard ground, we work around the trees worth keeping. One crew builds all of it, in the right order, on one schedule. Trees we keep get fenced off from equipment the whole time.

Lindon still has that little-bit-of-country feel, which usually means bigger former-orchard lots, more yard to design and water, and old ag ground to work around.

The Lindon challenges

What a Lindon remodel runs into

Space that feels empty

A large Lindon yard with one patio and a lot of lawn can feel bare, and adding pieces without a plan just makes it feel scattered. The fix is grouping spaces and connecting them, not buying more stuff to fill the gaps.

Long runs for gas and power

A fire pit, kitchen or pool area far from the house needs long utility trenches. Plan them late and you end up cutting through new lawn or a finished patio. On a big lot, that mistake gets expensive quickly. We trench them early, while the yard is still torn up anyway.

Pool decks on clay

A pool deck near the Marina sits on clay that moves. If the base is not built for it, the deck cracks and pulls away from the coping. The ground under the deck needs as much thought as the pool itself.

Bench views and slopes

On the Lindon bench, the best view of Timpanogos or the valley is often right where the yard drops off. Making that spot usable can take walls and grading, and walls over 4 feet need an engineered design and permit in Lindon.

The J&H approach

How we remodel Lindon backyards

1 How we handle it

Plan the whole space first

We draw the full yard before we build any of it, placing each space by how you will use it, where the sun falls and what you want to look at from your chair. Then we build to that plan.

2 How we handle it

Trench once, build once

Gas, power, water and drain lines go in early, with spare sleeves for future additions. That way a patio heater or new light later does not mean breaking up a finished patio. We map every line so you know where it runs later.

3 How we handle it

One team in the right order

Grading and walls first, then utilities, hardscape, structures, planting and lighting. Our crew does the work and Jackson checks in with you along the way, so the yard matches what you approved. Each step gets checked before the next one covers it up.

Lindon questions

Backyard Remodel in Lindon: what people ask

Can you plan a pool area into my Lindon remodel?
Yes. We plan the decking, fencing, grading and planting around the pool so it fits the rest of the yard. On clay near the Marina, the deck base gets extra care. We confirm current city requirements for pools, fences and walls before work starts.
How do I keep a big remodel on budget?
Start with a full plan, then build in phases. Do the buried work first: grading, drainage and utility lines. Then add the big features as the budget allows. A written quote for each phase keeps you in control of what gets spent and when.
Will the remodel hurt my old trees?
Not if we plan for them. We check each tree's health, keep heavy equipment and deep digging out of the main root zones and adjust patio and path spots when needed. If a tree is failing, we talk it through with you before anything gets cut.

Your dream yard. Done right. Done on time.
